Overview

More than half of the 50 sessions at RubyKaigi 2023 will be presented in English. RubyKaigi attracts many participants not only domestic but also many participants from overseas, and many people may have felt “enjoyable” exchanging ideas with Rubyists from various countries or thought “I want to study English again!“.

This time, we Shippio Inc., which sponsors RubyKaigi 2023 and is creating a global engineering organization and Money Forward Co., Ltd are planing to hold a RubyKaigi After Party titled [Money Forward x Shippio BaySide Tech Nite~International after party at RubyKaigi 2023~] with English LT and socializing.

The BaySide Tech Nite aims to boost the international engineering community in Japan.

We plan to have LT sessions where participants can share their thoughts and stories about RubyKaigi 2023, as well as discussions on technical topics related to Ruby. Please note that even those who have not participated in RubyKaigi2023 are welcome to attend this event. We are looking forward to seeing Rubyists all over the world.

Call for English LT speakers

Also,we are currently rectuiting English LT speakers ! If you are interested in challenging yourself with a LT in English, please answer the questionnaire application page to apply ! If it’s related to Ruby, anything is fine but please prepare the materials in English. You will have 5 to 7 mins presentation.We will inform you of the results on May 9th.

概要

RubyKaigi 2023では、50個のセッションのうち半数以上が英語での発表です。 国内だけでなく、海外からもたくさんの参加者が集まるRubyKaigi。各国のRubyistとの交流が「楽しい」と感じた方や、改めて「英語を勉強したい！話せるようになりたい」と思った方は多いのではないでしょうか。

今回はRubyKaigi 2023のスポンサーであり、グローバルなエンジニア組織づくりを行なっている株式会社Shippioと株式会社マネーフォワードの2社で、「【Money Forward x Shippio 】 BaySide Tech Nite~International after party at RubyKaigi 2023~」と題して、英語でのLTや懇親会をメインとしたRubyKaigi After Partyを実施したいと思います。

※BaySide Tech Niteは、日本でのインターナショナルなエンジニアリングコミュニティーを盛り上げることを目的にしています。

RubyKaigi 2023の感想やこぼれ話、各社のRubyを使った技術に関する話などをLTさせていただく予定です。また今回のイベントは、RubyKaigiに参加していない方も参加いただけます。Rubyistの皆さんのご参加お待ちしております。

英語でのLTにチャレンジしてみたい方を募集します。Rubyに関する話であれば、なんでもOKです。登壇時間は5〜7分程度で、英語での資料作成と登壇準備をお願いします。希望者は申込時のアンケートに回答ください。結果については5/9にお知らせします。
